It´s something I have not thought about before, but with the Christmas Markets all over, and in every town in Germany, I was wondering whether we have something similar in SA. Like stands with Christmas articles, Glühwein or other Christmas drinks, Lebkuchen (Gingerbread), Christmas tree decorations and similar. There are also rides like at a funfair, and the always present pretzels, jam doughnuts, waffles, and sugarcoated almonds etc.
I can only think of the Craft Markets, or is there something similar in SA?

Otto B, I am not new to Christmas in winter, but I do not like it. What fun can one have when it is freezing cold outside and the Schaschlik freezes on the stick before I can eat it? And it gets dark at 16.00 and light only after 8am. Give me a SA Christmas any time, please and thanks. And most of all I miss having Christmas with my brother and sister and their families. That is what Christmas is all about, innit? Cold meats, salads, trifle, peppermint crisp pudding, chocolate mousse, ice cream and fruit salad, all taste better when it is lekker hot and the whole family is around. Guess who´s missing Christmas in SA ??

Where are some good resources/websites where i can find out how to create art and craft?
I’m really interested in it and i am in need of a theraputic creative outlet. I have been hitting the markets lately and there is some really funky stuff out there. Dolls with one or three eyes, really intricate Japanese designs on fabric, pixie shoes, hand-made cards, etc.
I would also love to make cards and gifts for my loved ones and also share my skills with others (when i have them).
Any tips?
I am visiting Hong Kong shortly. Any recommendations on local markets/malls for craft souveniers and fashion?
